About Me
Hello! My name is Stacey and I like pretty things…a lot.
A little over seven years ago I left my corporate life and came home to raise my beautiful family. Let me introduce you.
Beaut.one (my daughter)
Beaut.two (my son)
Beau (My husband)…and me.
Okay, okay! So my husband didn’t need raising in the traditional sense but he still benefited greatly from me coming home. (At least that is what I have been telling myself…over and over and over again.)
So now that you’ve been properly introduced to my bevy of beauties let’s get back to those aforementioned pretty things. While embarking on my new adventure as a stay-at-home mom I learned a few things.
#1 This is hands down the hardest job I’ve ever had. Motherhood put those long nights at the office working on a marketing project and the humiliation of being hung up on several times a night as I attempted to sell magazines look like a stroll in the park. Yes, it’s true. I was a telemarketer once. And I was in high school…so please don’t judge me.
#2 Spending your days at home…staring at the same walls…with the same stuff on those walls…is about enough to drive a sane woman (me?!) nuts! So I started experimenting with all things creative. It started with home decorating, spilled into DIY projects (poor Beau!) and then quickly began to include crafting, party planning, gardening, cooking and photography.
#3 My house never looks like a catalog spread, some nights we just have cereal for supper and occasionally I look up, realize it’s 2:30 in the afternoon and I still haven’t showered. And that’s okay.
#4 In the midst of this crazy, lovely thing called my life…I like to have to take some time and find something beautiful in each day. Something hand-crafted, planted, organized, painted, repaired, prepared, eaten, planned, captured, acquired, experienced…created.
And I hope to document all that here. Thanks for stopping by to share in my beauty in the midst.
